Description:
Captured in 2015 during my journey through the scorching landscapes of Death Valley, Mirage encapsulates a moment of surreal beauty that, for me, represents everything I love about America. On a seemingly endless road, I encountered a small, unexpected pool of water shimmering in the desert heat—an illusion of life in an unforgiving landscape.
In post-production, I mirrored the vast expanse of the vibrant blue sky onto the ground, defying logic and creating the illusion of a colossal lake stretching toward the horizon. The result blurs the boundary between reality and imagination, echoing the mirage-like quality of the American dream itself.
The vintage motor home positioned in the foreground serves as a quiet tribute to the spirit of exploration that has long defined the American identity. It stands as a symbol of freedom, resilience, and the pursuit of individual dreams—a reflection on the vastness of the land and the enduring allure of the open road.
